FOR GOLFER NEW TO THE ROSE -- The Rose Golf Course was designed around the GREEN Tees. We do recommend playing these Green tees if it is your 1st time on our golf course. The Blue tees can be exceptionally difficult, especially on the Par 3's. All G.A.M. makers are measured from the green Tees for yardages on scorecard.

Hole #1 is a slight dogleg to the right and down hill to the green. Keep your tee shot left of center. Check yardage on the approach, it plays shorter due to being down hill. Avoid going right.

Hole #2 is a short but challenging dogleg right. The big hitters (from both red and green tee boxes) can take the risk of cutting the corner. Green tees - 200 yd. tee shot (from the G.A.M. marker is ideal; Reds - 140 yd. A lay up works nicely. The approach needs to be accurate due to the severe drop off the back and to the right of the green.

Hole #3 is our beautiful signature hole. From the blue and green tees the spectacular view overlooks the hill to a pond filled with goldfish. The green that slopes left to right is guarded by water on the right.

Hole #4 is the toughest of the par 5's. The tee shot is uphill with a pond on the left side (240 yd. cary from greens and 180 yards from reds) of the fairway. It takes a "tiger" to reach the green in 2 shots. Before you hit your next shots, be sure to look over the hill so that you're not surprised by the water at the bottom. Lay up short of the pond if from of the green for your best chance for a birdie.

Hole #5 is another scenic but challenging par 3. The green is guarded front and back by water. Look and listen for the waterfall on the right side of the hill.

Hole #6 the tee is straight over a large ravine, with a good carry you can get a helpful roll. Ladies have a nice advantage on the tee shot. The approach is down hill to a long but narrow green sloping right to left.

Hole #7 is a straight away to a narrow looking fairway but it does open up to the right. The tee shot needs to be right of center to have a good approach shot to the wide but short green.

Hole #8 is a dogleg left from the back tees (200 yd tee shot is ideal from G.A.M.). A hill blinds the approach to the wide green which slopes from back to front. This is the trickiest green on the front so try to keep your approach shot on the front part of the green or else your second putt may end up longer than the 1st.

Hole #9 is a straight-away hole that leads back to the beautiful pro shop and restaurant. The tee shot has to be straight to the narrowing fairway. The second shot is to a large green. The 2 handicap is due to the tightness of the hole.

Hole #10 is a par 3. Don't let that fool you, because if you end up short, you're in trouble. Watch the waste bunker back right of the green.

Hole #11 is a shorter dogleg right. Keep the driver in the bag and beware of the sloping left fairway. The grass bunker is 210 yd. from the Green G.A.M. marker, and 110 yards from the Reds. Then you will have a short iron to the elevated green.

Hole #12 is one of the tougher par 4's. The tee shot is straight into a ravine sloping severely right to left, be sure to keep your drive to the right. The approach is uphill to a small sloping (back to front) green. Avoid the waste bunker back of the green.

Hole #13 is another beautiful hole with a breath-taking view from the back tees. This is one of the wider fairways. Hit away! The green is long, guarded by a waste bunker to the right.

Hole #14 is a good birdie hole for the men. This hole is a par 4 for women and a par 5 for men. The men's tee shot is to a dogleg right which can be carried by the big hitters. A good lay-up shot off the tee would be 180 yrds. straight away. The women's tee shot is wide open but long-ball hitters beware of the water in front of the green which can be reached with a good drive. Men - If you go for the green in 2, watch the pond front left of the green. If you're long, it also causes trouble.

Hole #15 is the longest of the par 3's. Don't let the simple look of the hole deceive you. The hole is slightly uphill leading to a sloping right green. This fairway is guarded by Baylor Marsh on one side and surrounded by clusters of unforgiving spruce trees. Enjoy the view of the Baylor Marsh from the green.

Hole #16 is one mile from the clubhouse. The tee shot can be played two ways. To clear the pond from the G.A.M. marker is 200 yrds. Otherwise, the water is 180 yards from the tee and it may be wise to just lay up short of it. The second shot is all uphill to a wide but short green that drops off the back and left.

Hole #17 has the widest fairway for the men. Grip and rip. The approach is to a long two-tiered green with a waste bunker front right.

Hole #18 is a tough finisher (#1 handicap). Lay up with a iron or small wood off the tee, staying short of the long pond. The approach needs to be accurate, hitting the long, narrow green with water to the left. Women - Long ball hitters can easily make it over the water but there's not a large landing area, so you may want to also lay up with a 100 yard tee-shot to the right.
